  • Imaginative Play

In addition to our iconic custom-built “L” train blue line passenger train car, we have a traditional play house in which we rotate imaginative play props including child-size furniture. Some other props include baby dolls, food, and shopping carts as well as colorful play silks that can be used as anything the children’s beautiful minds can come up with!

  • Gross Motor Play

We have a beautiful play structure with climbing ramps, a steering wheel, telescope, ladders, and a slide. We will also have foot-to-floor push cars children can ride around the play area that look like actual cars you may see around the neighborhood (think… a UPS truck!). These types of toys help your child flex their muscles and put some of that bigger-movement energy to good use, despite the small footprint of our cafe.

  • Baby-only Garden

This is a special, sectioned-off space for the littlest members of our community. This area includes toys and furniture geared towards not-yet-mobile, crawling, and barely toddling little ones. We have mirrors, soft play, furniture to practice pulling-up on, as well as age-appropriate and engaging toys.

  • STEM & Fine Motor Play

To help your child strengthen their hands as well as other parts of their brain we provide STEM-related yet age-appropriate materials for them to engage with. For example, we have a “Construction Zone” with rotating materials used for building and creating. Some of these materials include unit blocks, Magna Tiles, and foam/cardboard blocks. We have a magnetic wall that also has rotating materials. Some of our more STEM-focused magnetic wall materials are science-subject-matter puzzles and magnetic gears. We hope to soon add a ball run as well!

We also have a wooden train table with the train tracks fastened to the table. This will help prevent pieces from getting lost or moved somewhere across the play area. Using the trains and moving them up and down and all around the table is a great way for children to increase their concentration as well as fine-motor skills.

  • Accesible Materials

Another important aspect of our space is that we provide some all-ability-friendly materials available as well. This includes several wall panels that can be easily accessed. We will be able to occasionally rotate these interactive HABA wood panels to keep things interesting. The magnetic wall mentioned in the STEM section will also be an easily accessible space with engaging materials for all children.

  • Quiet Room

Our designated Quiet Room serves two important purposes. The first is for caregivers to have a quiet, private place to feed nursing or bottle-feeding babies. This space includes comfortable seating, a table, and even a sink and small counter space. The second purpose is a space where children or children and their caregivers can come when they are feeling overstimulated and need a quiet space to reset.

  1. Socks are required past the entrance gate.

  2. No shoes or bare feet.

  3. No hitting, kicking, wrestling, or rough-housing.

  4. No chase or tag games.

  5. No running.

  6. Only children under 24 months allowed in the infant area.

  7. Food and drink must stay on the seating side of the cafe (not the carpeted play area), unless it has a lid or cover.

  8. No jumping off the large play structures.

  9. Go down the slides feet-first, one person at a time.

  10. No toys on the play structure.

  11. Clean up after yourself.

    Please note:

Children are to be supervised by their Parent or Guardian at all times. Guardians are not to leave children unattended beyond their line of sight. Children must not leave gated area without their Guardian.
